Evergreen Memorial Chapel Obituary

Marvin was born on January 10, 1943 and passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Marvin was a resident of Alaska.

To J. Berg from a friend of Marv's in Alaska:

Marv spent most of his career as a land surveyor.  In the mid 70’s he moved from Anchorage to Homer Alaska and set up his own small Surveying firm.  Homer is a beautiful fishing port in Southwest Alaska about a 5 hour drive from Anchorage, probably 4 or 5 thousand people.  Very artsy place, Marv fit right in except their liberal politics offended him.  He had his own firm until sometime in the early 90’s when he went to work at the Red Dog Mine (largest zinc mine in the world) where he was in they're surveying and engineering department.  He worked three weeks on and two off, probably for 10 years or more.  His last years he worked for BLM in their survey and records department.  Most of Alaska is owned by the federal government and much of the land  has never been surveyed so he chose a good profession.  He was always an outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting, downhill skiing and hiking.  He also had a pilots license and a small plane as I did also.  I was so fortunate to have him as a friend all of these years.
