JANICE FAYE STEBLETON (Mrs. Merlin Jacobson)

Born:  July 19, 1943

Died:  September 11, 2008 at the age of 65

 

Janice F. Jacobson, 65, Minot, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in a Minot nursing home.

Janice was born on July 19, 1943, a daughter of George and Dorothy (Frye) Stebleton in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating in 1961 from Minot High School.

On July 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Merlin Jacobson in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where Janice worked as a dietary supervisor for St. Joe's-Unimed-Trinity for 47 years.

She was a kind, caring and giving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked crafting and her custom Christmas ornaments become an annual holiday gift tradition. In recent years, she had fun trying her luck on the slot machines. In true Janice style, she always shared her winnings with others especially her cherished granddaughters. She had a zest for life and her positive energy, kind heart and devotion to family was an inspiration for all who knew her.

Surviving relatives include: Husband, Merlin, Minot; children Michael (Stacey) Jacobson, Lisa (Scott) Gira, all Eagan, Minn.; two grandchildren Kacee Jacobson, Stamford, Conn., and Kate Gira, Eagan; siblings, Judy (Erwin) Fetzer, Surrey, Maxine Henderson, Minot, Darrell (Judy) Stebleton, Minot, Eleanor (Wesley) Ehlke, Minot, Larry (Diane) Stebleton, Minot, Warren Stebleton, Surrey, Arnold (Ida) Stebleton, Bismarck, Lois (Dale) Falb, Newton Falls, Ohio, Curtis (Cindy) Stebleton, Lakeville, Minn., Jeffrey (Lori) Stebleton, Minot, Shelle Stebleton, Dallas, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service: Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
